After inking an OVO deal with Warner Bros last November, Drake and his business partner Noah '40' Shebib has allegedly snagged up Cassie as their first big signing. It's being reported that the new deal will see her serially overdue sophomore album drop next Spring. The remainder of her non-existent music career saw Cassie being signed under boyfriend Diddy's Bad Boy/Interscope distribution partnership. She hasn't had much success after ditching ex-boyfriend Ryan Leslie. And this is the man that gave Cassie her one and only hit in 'Me & U' during 2006. Last year, she appeared in a Nicki Minaj video for 'The Boys', which she is featured on and more recently, she dropped a new mixtape called 'RockaByeBaby'.
Folks are criticising Drake for expanding his empire with an all face, no talent type of artist. But I think her airy vocals work quite well with the right songs. No one can say she doesn't have any bangers. She is literally the QUEEN of bangers, without the critical acclaim. And we all know Diddy has done a really poor job of promoting this chick (and every other unfortunate artist he has taken under his wing) so if this is true, perhaps she may get the exposure she is badly in need of.
