Jordin Sparks eyes fall release for new album...

In an interview with AOL Radio News, Jordin Sparks reveals that she wants the first official single off her upcoming new album to have a summer 2014 release, with a fall 2014 album release (via RCA Records). It's been five years since she released her second and last studio album 'Battlefield' in the States.

She adds:
"I just had a really amazing meeting with the label and everything and I'm pretty sure we're good to go," she reveals to ABC News Radio. "So, I'm gonna get back in the studio, record the last couple of songs, 'cause we got a whole bunch recorded already, and then, I want [a] single at the end of summer, [and then a] fall [album] release."
Wanting and have it happening are two different things. Discussions of a new album go back as far as 2011 so I would not get my hopes up too soon without some sort of official confirmation from the label themselves. If we do get new music from her, I'd like more 'Battlefield' type songs and less 'I Am Woman' as it was too Beyoncé-esque and not really her style.
