Britney Spears discusses upcoming “rock-pop” album...

During yesterday's presentation of her 'Intimate Britney Spears' lingerie collection in New York, Britney Spears did a whole lot of interviews in promotion of it.

In fact, she's done more promotion for this line than the actual music. Hopefully her next album will have a much better promo roll-out. Speaking of which, she did an interview with ExtraTV and shed some light on it. *updated with 'GMA' interview*

She revealed that she’s working “very slowly, but progressively” on the project and that it will have a different sound to what she has done so far. More “rock-pop” she says. Apparently, she wants to try out something more "artsy" and "different."

This would actually be progressive for Britney because her last few albums were very EDM-focused. I would not get excited too soon. The album is very much in the very early stages and she may not release it until 2016. A lot of changes and differing ideas can be put forward in such amount of time. I truly hope she does have the main say in this album and that she does not let the label or her team dictate the record's final result.
