It is said that Beyoncé (as well as Adele) may not have been aware the song was being pitched to her as A&R sometimes decide whether or not the song is suitable for their artist. And if that was the case, A&R was spot on.
Sure, the song is a big hit because it was the right song for Meghan Trainor but this would not have been a hit for Beyoncé. It is not her style, it's painfully annoying and it would not have fit her vocals.
