Those that buy a box of specially marked Honey Nut Cheerios at Walmart stores will get a code to download this new song. Times are surely changing because this could either be seen as creative marketing or just sheer desperation to promote his music.
The song will NOT appear on his upcoming album 'UR', but it was a contender to make the final tracklist. The track itself is actually pretty good despite him receiving ridicule over its distribution. It's a real smooth, authentic R&B song with minimal production, and his upper register sounds great. He's serving some real meaningful lyrics here which I appreciate. My only issue with it is that I was waiting to hear a climax to the song and there was none. Other than that, this is a good song.
I'm happy Usher is sticking to R&B this time but I think he is having a Mariah moment which kind of sucks for him. As another struggling veteran, I feel he will come with a decent album but R&B music has lost its momentum and it's been that way for quite some time now unfortunately. I truly hope he can turn things around after this tour.
