Britney announces new album ‘Glory,’ visits Kimmel + releases ‘Private Show’

Britney Spears has announced that her ninth studio album ‘Glory’ will hit retail on August 26th. Here on the left, she unwraps the official artwork, which is just... very blah.

The project, preceded by lead single ‘Make Me’ (ft. G-Eazy), is now available to pre-order on Apple Music. The pre-order also came with a new song called 'Private Show,' which she teased previously in her new fragrance commercial. She coos about working the pole over a doo wop-inspired backbeat produced by Young Fyre. The melody is nice, but those vocals are probably the worst I have ever heard on a Britney record. It's like she was just grating her throat with a cheese grater, to a point where Alvin and the chipmunks have sounded better!

Britney also cancelled two 'Piece Of Me' shows the very same weekend of the VMAs. Excited fans now believe she will perform there on the big night on August 28th (she is headlining the iHeart Radio Festival on Sept 24th). Her promo campaign started with a visit to Jimmy Kimmel's bedroom where she pranked the sleeping host in the middle of the night. Check out the action, and listen to ‘Private Show’ below.
