Jazmine Sullivan & Fantasia tribute Aretha Franklin @ Black Girls Rock 2018

Jazmine Sullivan and Fantasia Barrino both tributed the late great Aretha Franklin during Black Girls Rock! 2018 in Newark, New Jersey.

The show was filmed last month, and broadcast last night on BET. Fantasia opened the show with 'Chain Of Fools' and 'R.E.S.P.E.C.T.' while Jazmine sang ‘I Never Loved A Man.’ Jazmine's performance was part of a group tribute with Ledisi, Cynthia Erivo, Stephanie Mills and Yolanda Adams. Jazmine was SANGIN ya hear me? It's amazing how much she resembles Aretha in her younger years. She would serve as an excellent choice for the Aretha Franklin biopic. They both have a similar rasp, and Jazmine can hit those Aretha runs much better than Jennifer Hudson.

Fantasia is really talented, but she needs to learn how to reign in her performances. Catching the holy ghost is her thing I know, and I also know how emotionally invested she can get. She starts out the gate with all of the theatrics and screaming, without giving herself a chance to BUILD UP to all of that.

Overall, Black Girls Rock tributed Aretha the RIGHT way.
