Solange - 'When I Get Home' | Sells 11K in pure album sales

Solange recently dropped her fourth studio album 'When I Get Home,' and it practically came and went like nothing. A personal endorsement from sister Beyoncé didn't really do much either as the follow-up to 'A Seat at the Table' only sold 11,000 copies in pure sales (43,000 overall with streams). It bags a #7 positioning on the Billboard 200.

The album has a very serene and airy vibe to it. The mellow direction and minimalist production has become so abundant now. I find this album to be very bland. A shame... because 'A Seat at the Table' (which had more of an artistic flair) was far more enjoyable by comparison. I guess it makes for some cool background music, but it all sounds like one continuous song. Too many interludes as well. I get what she was trying to do, but it just didn't hit the mark. 'Stay Flo' and 'Things I Imagined' are the likely standouts.
