Beyoncé leads the NAACP Image Awards nominations.

Although 'Black Is King' isn't Beyoncé's best work, one can only hope she wins big at the the 52nd NAACP Image Awards. The album stood for something, and she worked hard to put out visuals uplifting blackness.

For the project, she received the most nominations of any artist in the music categories with 8 nods. These include Outstanding Female Artist, Outstanding Music Video/Visual Album (Black Is King, 'Brown Skin Girl'), and Outstanding Soul/R&B Song ('Black Parade').

I know people are thinking she gets so many nods because organisers want her to show up. She could record an entire album where she is burping into the mic and still attract a significant amount of nods.

.
Better yet, I'd like someone to leak the conversations she had with Clive Davis when she attended his pre-Grammys Zoom party over the weekend.

Black is King was fire. Why do you only praise generic iterations of rnb?

I LOVED black is king!

Maybe some of us are just sick and tired of talented artists lowering their standards just to fit in with trends.

Youre calling afrobeats a trend? Wow. Thats surprisingly ignorant Toya. Afrobeats may have only become mainstream in the past 5 years but it has been around for decades with Fela Kuti being one of its pioneers. It is no trend. Know your history.

Its amazing that Beyonce used her playform to do her part in shining a spotlight on this sound and you would write it off as a trend because its not your cup of tea? Thats poor

I told y'all this blogger is a HATER....

The sound was popular before she "spotlighted" it. Janet, Ciara, Ashanti and lots of others had already experimented with it. I'm definitely not a Bey hater. I'm a fan actually. Just because I don't like all of her music doesn't make me a hater. But I digress.

Y’all really need to get your heads out of Beyoncé’s ass. I didn’t care for Black Is King either, it was too long and boring. I did like the fashions and choreography but that’s about it. People aren’t always gonna like what you like 🤷🏾‍♂️ Please get over yourselves.
