Mariah Carey dishes on new album + unwraps new promo image

Last night, Mariah Carey attended a Television Critic’s Association press tour in Beverly Hills to promote her new E! docu-series ‘Mariah’s World.’ While doing so, she released this new promo image on the left.

She also opened up about her 15th studio album, revealing that she stays tight lipped to avoid thieving on her concepts. “I’m taking a different approach with this record because I’m not holding myself to the studio like, ‘I’m making this album top to bottom.’ People don’t really do that anymore. Right now I’m writing and recording and collaborating, and then we’ll see what the best of the best is.”

When probed for more details about the album, she adds: “It’s a secret because then everybody steals the concept. I’m serious, it just happened to me like two months ago. I don’t want to go into it because then I’m gonna be shady.” She was recently spotted in the studio with Jermaine Dupri, Johnta Austin, and Bryan Michael Cox. All of who have worked on her blockbuster 'Emancipation' LP over a decade ago. Whether they can recreate that same magic remains to be seen. What I will say is that MC's documentary looks like it's going to be a good series. It will definitely put her sense of humor into perspective at the very least.
