Vocal juggernaut Ariana Grande kicked off the VMAs performing a medley of her hit singles 'Baby I' and 'The Way' during the pre-show.
Ariana continued to serve Mariah-esque vocals for the performance and sounded great. But she seemed timid and nerve-ridden and that only magnified how much she resembled a scared little girl dressed like a cupcake. Her image simply doesn't match the music and at times, her execution came across as slightly awkward. When Mariah was 20-years-old, she actually looked like a grown woman. But at least she sang live so kudos to her.
