New Music: Monica ft. Missy Elliott – ‘Code Red’...

Monica teams up with frequent collaborator Missy Elliott and her daughter Laiyah for the uptempo title track. 

I'm so happy to see Monica making a comeback but for her standards, this song is terrible despite that very cute intro. This is another late tune that's very Ciara-ish from a few albums ago. Yes, ‘Code Red’ is completely out of her comfort zone, but I find it rather contradictory for her to sing about the state of R&B when putting out a song like this one. The Polow Da Don-produced cut will appear on her new album 'Code Red,' due December 18th.
