Mariah Carey projected to get her first Hot 100 #1 in 11 years with 25-year-old song.

The making of history is near.
Final projections for next week’s Billboard Hot 100 shows Mariah Carey is on course to get her 19th #1 with 'All I Want for Christmas Is You.' Imagine your song going to number one 25 years after it’s release? Only a legend like Mariah Carey. The song, which was penned by the legend herself was originally released in 1994. It never did get to number one (#3 is its highest peak.) Even 11 months ago, the song peaked no further than #3 in January of this year. Mariah recently shot a brand new music video for the track, which was directed by Joseph Kahn. We don't have a premiere date for the video, but it's a dead cert that it will premiere sometime next week. Maybe as soon as tomorrow, even. So once the video drops, she's pretty much achieved what she's set out to do. A number one song, after it's release 25 years ago. Bloody amazing. The repackaged edition of her 1994 'Merry Christmas' album also returned to the top 10 on the Billboard 200 Chart this week jumping 12 spots to #9.

Mariah is also the face of Walkers Crisps Christmas campaign and the festive cut is heavily used in their commercial. If Mariah manages to get her 19th #1 with 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' (and it is almost a dead cert now), this will be her first #1 in 11 years. The last time she topped the Billboard Hot 100 was in 2008 with 'Touch My Body.'  A number one song released 25-years-ago. We love to see it.
