Thinkpiece on why Nicki Minaj REALLY rejected Doja Cat’s ❝Get Into It (Yuh).❞

During a Twitter Spaces chat, Nicki Minaj revealed that she was asked to feature on Doja Cat’s 'Planet Her' track 'Get Into It (Yuh).' Reason being, Nicki wasn’t feeling it. “I didn’t love that song because I didn’t think I could bring anything to it,” she said. Nicki goes on to say she asked Doja's team to send something else despite it being the second song sent. They failed.

It makes so much sense now why Doja said “Thank you Nicki, I love you” at the end of the song. The real tea? Nicki didn't think she could add anything extra to the track because she practically heard herself on the song. Doja sounds just like Nicki on it and Nicki clocked it. There is a difference between biting someone and paying homage.

I don't think she sounds anything like Nicki on it personally, at least no more so than on any of her other tracks. I think Nicki's right, it's just not that great a track (my least fave on the album), and not really her style - she'd have sounded much better on "Need To Know", "You Right" or "Love to Dream".
