Normani & Cardi B’s single ❝Wild Side❞ has been certified GOLD in the States...

Small victories are still victories...
Normani and Cardi B's single 'Wild Side' is now certified GOLD in the States for pushing 500,000 units (with SPS).

The song is not that bad after a while. It is just a really basic R&B song that didn't pack much punch. Normani could have picked a far more radio friendly single for her comeback. Now the song is sliding away and she has to go back to the drawing board. She even tweeted a few days ago that she is still recording her new album. Chick dropped a lead single, performed it at the MTV VMAs and her album still isn't ready yet?! Giiiirl....

@Toya Even summer walker is releasing her 2nd album next month & didn't have all the hype like normani.
*Chloe say her album is done & that she's just finalizing the best 12 song with parkwood to put on her album which is coming before the end of the year...
*WHAT IS NORMANI DOING???

Her label is a mess. They don't know what to do with her. I fear she may even get dropped. Remember X Factor USA winner Melanie Amaro? She got dropped even before she could put out an album.

@Toya explain to me why her LABEL isn't giving her a budget, I don't believe she has enough funds to promote this album...

It's been years since her solo debut so I'm sure she has albums worth of music done. I believe the issue is them wanting a huge hit before locking down a full album release. Unfortunately I just don't think that's gonna happen for her. I love Normani and I get that she has to deal with plenty of undermining and negativity but at some point you've just got to pull the trigger and let the world do what they will with the album. Maybe it'll be a grower with rave reviews and word of mouth appeal but the longer they drag it out the higher the expectation will be for this long overdue album. I'm afraid her album will underwhelm a lot of people who are expecting "Dangerously In Love", "The Dutchess" or even "Justified" levels of breakout solo success.

The difference with those albums was that not only did they all have a massive fanbase at the time, they all had smash hits to support their projects. The massive anticipation was there so it was almost a certified guarantee those albums would do well.

Lack of funding could be part of the issue too.

Yeah, I think she & the label mistakenly believe they'll achieve that smash hit with one of her releases before they even cement an album. I just don't see that happening. The only Member of Fifth Harmony with that massive fanbase was unfortunately Camila. "Waves", "Motivation" and "Wild Side" are #1's in the minds of hardcore fans only (me included) but the GP ain't checking for her. Sad but true.

She is not going to get the smash hit. The mass anticipation just isn't there. She might as well just release the album and whatever comes of the situation is how they deal with it moving forward.

She needs to be on that new artist grind. Hit up the morning shows, late shows, club/mall circuit. Let the world know who Normani is, connect and engage to grow that fan base. Get off Twitter and Instagram telling behind the scenes business and WORK. Skip the Dolce and Gobana show to stay home and get your musical affairs in order. Normani can have success, but she'll need to work for it... it won't just be given to her.

No shade, but Fifth Harmony weren't exactly Destiny's Child, Black Eyed Peas or N-Synch in terms of critical acclaim. I don't think I even know any of their songs tbh.
