New Music Review: Beyoncé - ❝Break My Soul❞ (first single) ♫♫

It's here! Beyoncé has released her new single ❝Break My Soul,❞ the first taster from her upcoming album Renaissance due July 29th. ❝Break My Soul❞ features two prominent samples. The first one lifts a synth sample from the 90s classic Robin S. house hit, ❝Show Me Love.❞ A vocal is also lifted from Big Freedia’s ❝Explode,❞ from the 2014 LP ❝Just Be Free.❞ The track is produced by Bey, Tricky Stewart, and The-Dream, the same team behind Beyoncé’s iconic Single Ladies. The 90s house cut comes right on time for Pride month and the Queens will be vogueing to it at all the latest drag shows!

The dance cut is quite empowering with positive and relatable lyrics. Of course most of us would love to quit our toxic jobs just so that we can enjoy being our happiest selves! My only gripe with it is that her vocals are a little aggressive for this type of production. Beyoncé's voice excels more on soulful and funkier jams like what she gave to us during the B'Day❞ era. A full album of this would be too much. So hopefully, she didn't get bitten by the Drake bug. However, stepping out of her lane a bit is what Beyoncé does. Take a listen to her new single ❝Break My Soul,❞ below.

It's like you read my mind. It's cute, nothing less, nothing more. But I have a feeling the video will be everything.

Beyoncé must have realized her avant garde-esque sound for the last 2 or 3 albums didn't yield massive hits so she's back, finally with a straightforward pop/dance single that's so instantly catchy I'll probably get bored with it in less than a week. I'm listening to it in a loop right now.

Not sure I’m feeling the Cardi B impersonation on the rap, but the song is cute - Remi

Ditto to what everyone else is saying. She gave us more complex lyrics and compositions with the last few projects and they were slept on so she wet for her hit making team (and formula): Very simple repetitive lyrics on a catchy beat and melody. Difference is this time the message is so universal, everyone can relate to it. Already very well received, I expect the music video to make it stick even harder.

Her next massive hit.

I find it funny how ya'll say "her last 2 albums was slept on, so she went back to her formula"

Her last 2 albums scored 2 $200+ million tours & critical acclaim but The Grammys decided to award commercial success in the 2010s(ie: Taylor Swift's 1989, Adele's 21 & 25 & Bruno's 24K Magic!) Beyoncè just picked the wrong time to go away from "the charts" & chase critical acclaim. Yet, she solidified herself as a TOURING GIANT!!!

I wonder though what would have happened to Beyoncé's singles chart trajectory if she had officially released "Grown Woman". I just love pop Beyoncé and I wish the pop remix of "Irreplaceable" (the one used in the first release of its music video) is commercially existent because I really like it. Anybody here knows where to get it?
