Beyoncé wants ❝Renaissance❞ & ❝Break My Soul❞ recognized in the dance/electronic categories at the 2023 Grammys...

Beyoncé is seeking to nab her first Grammy nominations in the dance/electronic music categories. The singer submitted her album ❝Renaissance❞ for Album of the Year and Best Dance/Electronic Album. Similarly, ❝Break My Soul❞ was submitted for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Dance/Electronic Recording. It marks her first time submitting in dance/electronic categories. This certainly discredits her nominations at the 2022 American Music Awards. Both ❝Renaissance❞ and ❝Break My Soul❞ received nods in the R&B categories. This is despite the song and album not being R&B, but heavily house-influenced. Beyoncé clearly has her own perceptions of which songs are more R&B-leaning on ❝Renaissance.❞ She has submitted music for several R&B considerations at the Grammys such as ❝Heated❞ and ❝Virgo’s Groove,❞ both of which are eligible for Best R&B Performance. Meanwhile, ❝Cuff It❞ was submitted for Best R&B Song. ❝Renaissance❞ is literally an 80% dance, house and electronic album, and this is Beyoncé's way of shouting back at the industry telling them to categorise her music accordingly.
