Everybody is breaking a record these days, but with streaming beast Ariana Grande, who is widely rumoured to benefit from multiple radio payola deals, is this news actually impressive? The victim mentality displayed in her music for dating a married man (who only just had a baby with his wife shortly before their hook-up) has clearly not hindered any chart performance.
Her new album ‘Eternal Sunshine’ debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 with the year’s highest first-week sales so far. Final sales were 227,000 (Sales Plus Streaming) with pure album sales totalling 77,000. The project also earned the singer her fifth #1 on the Official UK Album Chart. Her latest single ‘we can’t be friends (wait for your love)’ also rocketed straight to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 breaking many a record (see below).

Those rumors were debunked and they were both very much single before starting any romantic relationship. The album is one of her best and the only song I skip is “yes, and?”
