Throwback: Aaliyah ft. DMX | 'Back In One Piece' Video #RIP

Rapper DMX, born Earl Simmons, died at White Plains Hospital in New York earlier today. His passing comes six days after suffering an overdose, followed by a heart attack. He was just 50. The Hip Hop world just wasn't ready for him to see Aaliyah again, and that is said with a very heavy heart. His death comes 20 years after her passing. Rest in power, DMX.

RIP DMX & Aaliyah! X was rare breed in Hip Hop, he did MASSIVE NUMBERS WITHOUT much Top 40 radio support. Even 2 Pac(#1 California Love) & Biggie(#1 Hypnotize) needed huge Hot 100 hits to sell records back then. He really came in after the Puffy & Will Smith era in 98 & truly made a MAJOR Impact beyond belief. That truly showed how Special DMX really is!!! RIP TO THE DOG!!!

After Will Smith and Tupac, I think his debut album was inr of my first Hip Hop purchases. Loved how he was able to effortlessly combine Hip Hop with RnB - his collaborations with Faith Evans, Monica, Aaliyah etc are amongst there as some of the best. RIP Earl, hope you make it back to baby girl up there in one piece.
