Doja Cat’s latest album ❝Planet Her❞ has sold over 500,000 units...

Doja Cat's latest album 'Planet Her' has been receiving quite the mixed reaction. While opinions may vary, the album is doing exactly what it needs to do. Supposedly. The project has now "sold" 500,000 total units and is eligible for a Gold certification by the RIAA. Earlier this month, the album debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 with 109,000 units. It became her second top 10, highest-peaking album. Only 10,000 of those units were pure sales. It's crazy how an album can achieve a Gold certification in one month but only sell 10K traditionally in the first week. When you look at the percentages, she almost didn't sell any authentic copies at all! If the streaming aspect didn't exist, this would have been considered a flop.
Anywho, here's a new VEVO performance of 'Love To Dream' from earlier this month, if you missed it.

But if streaming didn't exist, her pure sales would undoubtedly have been considerably higher. Likewise, if streaming existed decades ago, sales of albums that flew off the shelves and went gold in the first week of release would have been much lower.Good for her, I enjoyed most of the album - got a little repetitive sounding towards the middle, but the deluxe edition tracks made up for it.
