Toni Braxton’s ❝Libra❞ album is FINALLY coming to streaming services in October...

Seems like the entire Blackground itinerary is getting a release (see announcements for Aaliyah and JoJo here and here.) After 16-years in lockdown, Toni Braxton’s ‘Libra’ has just been made available to all major streaming services from October 1st. Aaliyah’s uncle has been playing with our emotions for way too long now, and it's been quite the rollercoaster. Blackground were in the midst of shutting down when Toni was signed to the label. Her album had severely suffered because of it. Budgets were tight, and funds for promotion didn't exist. They couldn't even fund a second music video after 'Please.' This was such a great album, but it didn't receive any attention. At least it still went Gold. Barry Hankerson was on a consistent roll of screwing over his artists at the time.

‘Please’ and ‘Trippin’ were very much set for success at that time as both were on trend musically. They are both 10/10 artistically and were ready for the number one spot in my opinion.

‘Trippin’ would have fit in perfectly on everyones playlist sitting pretty right along with Mariah’s ‘We Belong Together’ and Mary J Blige’s ‘Be Without You’.

The holy trinity of the 2000s like Michael, Prince and Madonna were for the 1980’s.

And poor Janet with her ‘Call On Me’ would still be left in the dust…. Lol

Oh why did JD ruin a legacy with that one.
