is accompanied by a music video, directed by Xavier Dolan (❝Hello.❞ )
She says goodbye to her past to embark on a new chapter, even selling (and moving out of) the same house that she used in the video for 'Hello.' Adele is serving exactly what people were expecting visually and sonically. Her lack of growth and versatility seems to be working. People are eating it up. So why fix it if it ain't broke? This is her lane and she totally understands her target audience. The song is neither good or bad. It is just a numbers by numbers piano ballad with no band or an orchestra to make it pop. It does have a decent enough melody and her vocals remain powerful. We've just... heard it all before that's all. '30' - the follow-up to '25' arrives on November 19th.

Agree 100% with your analysis. The song didn't grab me instantaneously like Hello did, but it grows on me a bit more each time I hear it. The video did nothing for me, didn't get the storyline until I read this post. Glad she's back but I'm ready for something unexpected from her.
I think the rest of her album might be different. I hope that's what she is saying with her video and song.
