Adele’s ❝30❞ breaks records again + debuts with 261K in the UK...

Adele's new album 30 is breaking records again in the UK.
Debuting at #1 on the Official Chart, the project sells 261,000 scoring the biggest opening week of 2021 so far and overtaking ABBA’s Voyage (204,000). It is also the biggest first-week for an album since Ed Sheeran’s Divide in 2017, as well as the biggest opener for a female solo album since Adele’s last album, ❝25, in 2015.

Latest single Easy On Me claims a sixth consecutive week at Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart (with a further 101,000 units) pacing past her very own Someone Like You (5 weeks). She has THREE singles currently in the Top 5! Her reported second single Oh My God bags this week’s highest new entry at Number 2, while I Drink Wine lands at Number 4!

There is no doubt her entire album would have dominated the Top 10 if it wasn't for Official Singles Chart only allowing artists to have only their 3 most popular tracks in the top 100! The project is now certified Gold in the UK.

Over in the States, the album is set to debut at #1 on the Billboard 200 with approximately 838k (679k pure) units in total first week sales. This becomes the biggest debut of the year and the second-biggest of this decade so far.

In a recent interview, Adele said she and Drake are a dying breed in music and you’ll probably never see another artist accomplish what they’ve been able to accomplish, mostly due to the fact that they both came from the pre-streaming era.
