Aaliyah & The Weeknd’s collaboration ❝Poison❞ drops Friday | Snippet ♫♫

According to HITS Daily Double, a posthumous song from Aaliyah
featuring The Weeknd will soon be hitting the airwaves.
The unreleased track, titled ❝Poison,❞ appeared in a list of songs being sent to Urban AC radio.

It is reportedly the possible lead single from Aaliyah’s upcoming collaborations album, previously announced by her uncle, Blackground Records founder Barry Hankerson. It is said to feature contributions from Drake, Future, Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Snoop Dogg, and Timbaland.

A contributions album is so weird. When Aaliyah was alive, she was very selective with the people she worked with. In fact, with the exception of Timbaland (and maybe Drake) she would not have worked with many of these artists.

That sounded a mess. Hopefully the official version sounds better, because this ain't it. Issa chop for me.

Her vocals are not mixed properly and I don't think their voices go well together t all. I'll wait to hear it in HQ.

That must be it. I'll give it another spin when it is officially released.

My first thought was "is this a demo?", as it doesn't really sound like Aaliyah to me. I'll hold out on passing a critique until it's release though. I loved "They Don't Know" with CB and "Enough Said" and "Talk Is Cheap" with Drake, so I'm here for a collabs album.

I here for the collab album once it’s done correctly! It doesn’t sound bad but this sounds like old Aaliyah vocals before the Red Album…this sound like early vocals from between her debut and One In A Million I could be wrong tho

Nvm it’s due to they have pitched up her voice

@JRocka - it reminds me of "Journey to the Stars" Aaliyah. But yeah it does sound pitched up.
