Janet Jackson celebrates 25th anniversary reissue of ❝The Velvet Rope❞ at a party in London...

Janet Jackson's ❝The Velvet Rope❞ is by far my favorite Janet album. I seriously can't stress that enough. It was nice seeing Janet having fun and commemorating such a timeless, quintessential album with friends, fans and the British press. Last night (October 7th), she attended a party in London celebrating the 25th anniversary reissue of the project. Critically acclaimed producer MNEK and even Little Mix singer Jade Thirlwall participated in the celebrations. Upon its release 25 years ago in 1997, 'The Velvet Rope' debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200. It remains a classic pop culture staple to this day. The DJ kept the party popping by spinning classic Jackson tunes from the LP including mega hits, 'Got ‘Til It’s Gone,' 'Go Deep' and 'Together Again.' The legendary pop icon took to the mic to reflect and share memories of making the project. She was joined, via live satellite, by Jimmy Jam, who produced the album with his long-time creative partner Terry Lewis, alongside Janet. There was even a cute moment between Janet and her bodyguard Joey. That man is as stoic as it comes, so that was also cool seeing him letting his guard down a little. Overall, a fun, wonderful party for an amazing, wonderful album!
