New Music: Rihanna debuts new single, ❝Lift Me Up❞ (Review) ♫♫

The wait is over. Rihanna's new single ❝Lift Me Up,❞ lifted from the ❝Black Panther: Wakanda Forever❞ soundtrack, has finally arrived! The cut was written by Tems, Rihanna, Ryan Coogler, and Oscar winner Ludwig Göransson, who also produced the song. Rihanna ballads are pretty iconic. But where does ❝Lift Me Up❞ rank among them? Let's put it this way, Rihanna certainly understood the assignment with this minimalist pop ballad, complete with starry Spanish guitar riffs, and a raw, heartfelt vocal. More to the point, the vocals are certainly vocalizing! After not releasing solo music or touring for over 6 years, this has enabled Rihanna's voice to not just mature and produce growth, but to become more crisp and clearer than ever before.

Its a nice track. Strong vocal performance, but kind of plods along a bit. Lacks dynamics or any standout lyrics or production. Id put it on the same level as Spirit and Be Alive. Pleasant overall, but distinctly unmemorable. In 5 years time people aren't going to be talking about it or performing it on the Voice.
