Halle Bailey’s ❝The Little Mermaid❞ crosses $100 million...

All the racist "not my Ariel" types will certainly be choking on that salt water. Because Halle Bailey's 'The Little Mermaid' brought in an impressive $117,500,000 at the US box office over the Memorial Day weekend. They thought they could boycott with immediate effect. They thought her success was dependent on them. And sadly, they did the most to try and keep a black woman down. The good news for her is that she has her audience rooting for her. I am going to watch this film tomorrow night and as a person of color, I delight in being one of them to support it and help make it a hit. After all the bullsh*t the actress had to deal with, she deserves the success. The live-action movie serves as the fifth best opening for Memorial Day weekend in history, according to Box Office Mojo. And despite the film becoming a victim of review-bombing and online racist outrage, Disney still won in the end. Matter of fact, the controversy ended up becoming free PR and they made a profit. Congrats to Halle Bailey. Hopefully, she got a nice bag out of it.

Loved The Movie. I'm Hoping Coco Jones Plays Princess Tiana.

Though I think the cast did a wonderful job with their characters, especially Halle. I still can’t get into these live action remakes. They just don’t hit the same way the animated ones do. It always just feels like they’re missing something. I will say The Little Mermaid was a lot better than the others, but I think this is the last Live action I’ll be watching.

Well Toya yes the US showed up but where was Europe? Y’all’s box office numbers are pretty low for this film. Asia I expected but Europe surprised me (I know Europe is a continent but I hope you can still shed some light).
