Tina Knowles fumes at white TMZ journalist for questioning Beyoncé’s blackness...

Beyoncé promotes so much BLACKNESS, and has done so more consistently in recent years. I don't think she has ever gone out of her way to look like a white woman. However, during the earlier years of her career I do believe she played up to the European standards of beauty in order to populate herself with white audiences. When L'Oréal whitened her skin in an ad, she would turn a blind eye to it simply because speaking out against it just wasn't in her best interests at that time. So what's happened here is that a white woman (a journalist for TMZ) approached one of Beyoncé’s non-black team members to discuss her blackness after Beyoncé showed up at her own film premiere rocking a platinum blonde wig. It probably didn't help that she didn't tan or use bronzer for the occasion as naturally, Beyoncé is very fair skinned. Her mother Tina Knowles then became triggered by a white woman talking down on Beyoncé's appearance but became more outraged at the journalist for feeling comfortable enough to debate Beyoncé's blackness

I think due to the bronzer she consistently uses for performances and promotional appearances, people have a skewed impression of what her complexion actually is. So where she didnt wear it for this appearance because it would clash with her wig (which in itself exaggerated the effect) people were shocked and talking from a false impression. She has always been very fair. Lighting, makeup and season can effect her complexion. Its not rocket science. Just disappointed in the black community for their feeding into this narrative. Here we have one of our greatest icons who in recent years has been an advocate for blackness and we're here suggesting that even she wants to be white. As Tina said absolute bozos.

Sadly, the white reporter(gossiper) got comfortable having that discussion because black folks allow it.
It always goes to show that we are our own worst enemy.
When Taylor or Ariana or any of those white female popstars put out sth, their fans rally to support & shower with love (then if needed, criticize them in private).
When it’s one of own, they have to be “immaculate” or we gon label them or say sth like “great BUT…”
Whitney, Tina, Brandy, Beyonce & so forth.

We didn’t allow Chloe to grow, we didn’t support Normani enough, We failed Tinashe & Teyana Taylor & Kelly Rowland..yet we always marvel on why black female artists aren’t supported.

We really need to do better!

Sza shouldn’t be an exception…in a world full of Coco Jones, Victoria Money, Halle & others. They should be the norm.

Sometimes, it feels like we don’t deserve what Beyonce put out for us! We need to do better as a community!

Speak for yourself. Does it look like Mama Tina allowed it? The white reporter only had the balls to approach another white person cos she knew better than to ask one of Beyoncé's black crew members.

No one in the black community is suggesting that - the article clearly states the reporter is white, so why aren't you pointing your disappointment at the black community? Make it make sense

She hasn't always been so fair-skinned - when DC first came out she wasn't much lighter than LeToya.
