In fact, a new single could possibly be out before the end of this year. Just like her debut solo album ‘The Duchess’, which was released an eternal EIGHT years ago, the album looks like it will be headed in the urban-pop lane.
Billboard has also learned that hip-hop maestro Mike WiLL Made-It is involved in the project. His latest work includes Miley Cyrus’ 'Bangerz' album which he executive-produced, as well as cuts he has helmed for Rihanna, Ciara and many more. The difference being, those chicks are in their 20s and Fergie is approaching her 40s.
My point being, I hope she doesn't encounter a J.Lo/Mariah type situation where their age works against them. Same applies for Gwen Stefani (and possibly Janet Jackson) as well. That said, I'm ready for these new urban-pop bops. I can't keep working out to an album that was released over a decade ago. I need new music! And it will compensate for Rihanna not dropping an album this year as well.
