Adele says "no" to Super Bowl but NFL deny even asking her

Adele's decision to turn down performing at next year's Super Bowl Halftime Show should be applauded.
The Super Bowl halftime show is about the spectacle, not the music. And Adele is about the music and not the spectacle. During her concert in LA, she reveals: "I’m not doing the Super Bowl. I mean, come on, that show is not about music. I can’t dance or anything like that. They were very kind, they did ask me, but I did say no. I’m sorry. Maybe next time, for my next album, because I’m going to do a dance album next time. So maybe I’ll do it then." I wonder if she reads my blog, because she pretty much repeated everything I said in my initial post (lol.)

This just refreshingly shows NFL are not able to get anyone they want and have now resorted to lying that they ever made the offer. "We have not at this point extended a formal offer to Adele or anyone else" they said in a statement released today. She made the right decision turning it down because the half-time show is all about the spectacle, and she would definitely have struggled to pull it off. Plus, she doesn't need the exposure and I doubt that this would be a favorable setting for her music or her fans. Kudos to Adele. She really has lived on her own terms. If Lady Gaga finishes her album by end of the year, she would be the number one choice, although Rihanna and Drake could also be a guaranteed ratings bonanza.
