Cheryl Cole officially announces X Factor return...

It's official! Cheryl Cole has confirmed on Facebook that she will be returning to UK's 'The X Factor' for the eleventh season. This means she will reunite with former boss Simon Cowell on the judging panel. The music mogul infamously fired her from the Fox (USA) version of the talent show in 2011. She previously served as a judge on the British version from 2008-2010.

Their X Factor reunion follows Cowell's decision to abandon the floptastic US show to return to the UK version. Cheryl allegedly inked a $1.5 million deal for her return. Nice work if you can get it. See more details and my two pence inside.

Cowell tweeted:
It's official. Cheryl is back. Be careful what you wish for! Most importantly she is a brilliant judge of talent.

Cheryl wrote on Instagram with the first pic of their reunion (above):
GUESS WHAT!!..  I'm baaaacccckkkkk!!!! #iMayActuallyRingHisNeck #XFactor2014 #leggooo
Looks like someone doesn't want their next album to flop. Especially after the dismal sales of 'A Million Lights'. At least this way, she gets to promote her new music at the back of  the X Factor hype machine. A win win for her I guess. It doesn't hurt that she gets a big fat cheque at the end of it. I read her autobiography and I could have swore she said she was closing the book on that chapter of her life and could never see herself returning. But when your career is at stake, sometimes it's hard to turn your back on the hand that feeds you. I liked Cheryl as a judge. She was honest, and her tit for tat relationship with Cowell made for great TV. On top of that, ratings were at an all time high. Hopefully, they can get the flailing show back to where it needs to be. Will I be watching? Absolutely.
