Earlier today, Lana Del Rey faced the wrath of many a fanbase when she implied that Beyoncé and Nicki Minaj "have had number ones with songs about being sexy, wearing no clothes, fucking, cheating etc."
She's crazy if she thinks she is more criticised than Bey and Nicki. Those two have suffered a lot of criticism in their careers for their music content AND being overly sexualised. Although Lana mentioned non-black artists too, some feel she just threw in Camila Cabello and Ariana Grande to hide any low-key racism. I don't know about any racist undertones in her lengthy post. I just sensed bitterness that her songs don't attract the same level of commercial acclaim as theirs. That's simply because her music is painfully depressing and people enjoy listening to fun songs.
