Britney's 'Toxic' was originally written for Janet Jackson...

Remember when 'Toxic' was a massive hit for Britney Spears? Cathy Dennis, who wrote the track, reveals the song was originally intended for Janet Jackson. She met up with Janet just to see if anything would materialise, but it fell through. 'Toxic' was also offered to Kylie Minogue at some point as well but she turned it down. Britney dropped 'Toxic' a few weeks before the Nipplegate scandal, and to be honest, it would not have been a good fit for Janet's 'Damita Jo' album at that time. The song definitely went to the right person. 

'I'm A Slave 4 U' and 'Boys' by Britney were also supposed to be for Janet as well, songs which would have made it to Janet's 'All For You' album. Janet has a lot of hits under her belt. With both of those songs being the ultimate pop gems, of course those hits would have been extended had she been offered them during the right time frames.
