During an interview with David Letterman, Lizzo said, “I’m sick of being an activist just because I’m fat and Black,” adding, “I want to be an activist because I’m intelligent, because I care about issues, because my music is good, because I want to help the world.”
Lizzo is very pretty and talented but sadly, she is her own worst enemy. Lizzo has put soooo much emphasis on this fat girl schtick throughout her entire music career that now it's going to be extremely hard to shake off. She obsessively posts naked photos of herself on Instagram and never misses an opportunity to twerk her butt at shows and basketball games. I get that she's a prominent advocate for body positivity, but she can do that without turning herself into a publicised circus show. How you conduct yourself publicly reflects how seriously people will take you as an activist. Harsh I know, but facts. If the fat girl publicity is bothering her so much, she can always lose weight like Adele. But until her behaviour takes on a new life form, nothing is ever going to change.
