Black Twitter are fuming after Candace Braithwaite, a dark skinned black woman was axed and replaced by mixed race Rochelle Humes to front a documentary regarding the mortality rate of black women giving birth. Apparently, Candace has been campaigning on this issue for years and was engaged in the documentary since March 2020.
Rochelle on the other hand, is not known for speaking on issues of racial injustice. Despite Candice having a Sunday Times bestselling book and being a significant radio personality, some argue she hasn't enough of a platform for the documentary, compared to Rochelle who has a larger social media following. Out of respect, should Rochelle just have said no?
