Normani’s promotional rollout still needs work (she can always hire me)...

Despite my imaginary management degree, Normani should have hired ME to handle her business affairs. Her management team have no sauce. No imagination. Nothing! For a new artist with no album out after a 2 year hiatus, a number 14 debut on the Billboard Hot 100 is actually pretty amazing. Normani is finally making waves with new single 'Wild Things' (featuring Cardi B). But more work needs to be done. Nobody wants to see it completely drop off the charts and then flop away into oblivion. She needs to get out there and give some solid performances of the song. For instance, VMAs season is coming up and we know she will blow us all away with that.

.
As of now she needs to strike while the iron is hot. Her team should have already had a promotional campaign together once the single dropped. Radio interviews, a feature in Billboard, performances on SNL, Jimmy Fallon and VEVO Originals. After a couple of months of promo, dropping an uptempo, catchy banger and promoting it like hell would have been the move. Then she would be able to drop her long awaited album for once and for all.

I like Normani & wish her well, However she did say she had to FOOT the bill for her wild side video.... Those shows you mentioned cost money...

I said yesterday that these artists of today should Thank God for streaming & social media. Because if Wild Side had to rely on iTunes sales for chart success, the song would flop HARD! Here in the US, the song is currently at #102 on iTunes & the explicit version is at #138, so again, they should THANK GOD for streaming.

I grew up in the 90s where social media and digital streams didn't exist. Artists had to solely rely on their talent and pulling power to sell millions. No streaming boosts at all. Just 100% pure sales. This is why I have so much respect for 90s artists.

@ first anonymous, if that's the case she's going to struggle. Promo is crucial!

She’s doesn’t have an audience or a distinct sound.

Her roll-outs aren't the best. Yes, she came from a pretty popular girl group. But she still needs to hit that new artist campaign trail and continue to build buzz and a solid fan base.

Hopefully things get better down the road for her.

@Toya

FACTS! Also in the early 90's, Mariah Carey & Toni Braxton made their debut on the Arsenio Hall Show & KILLED their performances because they knew it was their moment, their time to shine & delivered flawless performances.

Even harder in the early 2000s with Napster/Kazaa/Limewire illegal downloading, so artists like Destiny's Child/Beyonce/Usher/Pink/Britney/Christina/Ciara etc was crushing every TRL/106 & Park/Award Show & Talk Show performance like there was no tomorrow.

Streaming services & social media is hurting the game from that standpoint but it is turning people into "brands" & "stars" faster & faster!
