Bulk purchasing fandoms weep as Billboard brings in yet ANOTHER new rule...

Billboard has changed the rules, eliminating bulk buying’s influence on the Billboard Hot 100. Good! The real question is, which artist will be most affected by this change? The new rule certainly levels the playing field making for a fairer, more legit system. Now they just need to step it up some and ban payola too!
Some fanbases really do cheapen the meaning of a #1, and it is never fair when they're allowed to manipulate the charts in such a way. It’s also not an accurate representation of an artist's popularity. This follows Billboard previously banning ticket bundling for album charts, so the crackdown on chart scams is real. K-Pop fans (specifically BTSh*t) and supporters of all the major pop gals are probably scrambling right now to find some major loopholes. Um... yeah. Good luck with that!

This was a much needed change. Because these crazed fandoms were inflating their faves sales above and beyond.

I can picture a handful of fandoms having meltdowns on Twitter. Hehe

I remember artists or teams for artists like Rihanna, Drake, Kanye & Nicki Minaj along with songwriters and producers like Ne-Yo & DJ Toomp have all expressed the wrinkles on the streaming & bundles side of the business.

It makes me glad I was able to witness the decade prior to the streaming era, because I notice that artists like Beyoncè/Destiny's Child, Gwen Stefani, Alicia Keys, 50 Cent, Eminem, Missy Elliot, Mary J Blige & Mariah Carey, I don't hear them complain about streaming at all & honestly, their biggest hits were in the early 2000s(except Mariah obviously but I include the success of The Emancipation of Mimi after the Glitter era debacle), so all I can about the early-mid 2000s era of music.....what a time to be alive!!!!!!

It's funny cuz ppl think fans buying music is not a reflection of popularity when radio payola exists. If these "more deserving" artists were truly more popular then their fans would buy too.
