Should JoJo go straight R&B for next album?

It's been a very sloooow news week, soooo I may as well do a debate post. Starting with JoJo.
JoJo, who released her 'Mad Love' album on Atlantic Records last October, recently announced her new imprint Clover Music. This is also a joint venture with Interscope Records. Good news, as this indicates she will be more in control when recording her next album. It also means she retains ownership of her masters and potentially stands to make more profit on her new music once released. Personally, I believe she needs to hook up with producers that can give her the correct sound for her talent. 'Mad Love' wasn't terrible. Buuutttt... what I will say is that it was very cookie cutter safe, and did not match the quality of her mixtapes at all.

More importantly, she needs to serve up a really great R&B album. I fear her commercial days as a critically acclaimed artist might be over, as Ariana Grande has stepped in and made a niche for herself while she was away. I hope I'm wrong, because her career deserves to be much bigger than what it is right now.

Today, I am SO SO SO excited to announce my new imprint and joint venture, CLOVER MUSIC with Interscope Records!!! 🍀 I'm reunited with @bayschuck, my original A&R at Atlantic, who was instrumental in signing me there... One of the hardest things I've had to do in my career was leave the Atlantic family. It was a decision I seriously struggled with, but felt I owed it to myself to fulfill one of my ultimate goals, which was ownership. At 13 years old, I was a brand new naive fetus of an artist trying to make a name for myself. At 18, after being blessed with two successful albums, I found myself having to fight for freedom and the opportunity to release music. It took six long tumultuous years but we did it. Thank YOU for sticking by me through thick and thin and showing me MAD LOVE!! 😘🤗❤️ Thank you @Interscope and Aaron for trusting this little Mass girl with big dreams. Now let's make something great 😊 🍀🍀🍀🎶💚🎶💚🎶 📸by @angelokritikos
