Jennifer Lopez covers GQ & breaks down her biggest career moments.

J.Lo hailed icon of the year in GQ
For someone who isn't an exceptional actress (sans 'Selena') and a vocally-challenged singer, Jennifer Lopez has had quite the storied career.

Being a beautiful woman who knew how to utilize her sexuality in a sex-obsessed Hollywood certainly helped. Not to take away from her hardcore work ethic. Everyone knows J.Lo is a hardworking woman. Maybe the hardest working woman out there next to Beyoncé.

It's admirable that she didn't let her lack of talent stop her from being a major force and becoming the iconic figure she is today. It would take much more than a 13-minute Q&A to cram in all of her biggest career moments. One of her picks included that Versace print dress she wore to the Grammy Awards in 2000 where she broke the internet.

Millions of people went to find pictures but Google Image Search wasn’t invented yet, and Jen's impact inspired Google to create it. Again, Jennifer's sex appeal and her knowing how to utilize it had that impact, because Geri Halliwell wore that same dress before Jen did and nobody batted an eyelid. I don't even think much people even knew Ginger Spice stepped out in it first before Jen turned it into a massive media spectacle.

Thirty years deep into her career and it's only NOW she's predicted to earn her first Oscar nomination for her work in 'Hustlers.' This being a film she claims she worked on for "free" by the way.

“I didn’t get paid a whole bunch of money for ‘Hustlers,’ she told GQ for their 2019 'Men of the Year' issue released on Monday. “I did it for free and produced it,” she continued. “I bank on myself, you know? That was like Jenny from the block. I do what I want, I do what I love.”

I'm not sure I believe that since she's known to be a very tight tipper. Plus, Samantha Barbash, who inspired Jen’s character Ramona in the film has also called bullshit on those claims too, stating that Jen definitely got a huge sum of money upfront and on the back end. 'Hustlers' made over $33 million in its opening weekend alone, so Jen definitely got paid.

But as for this Oscar buzz, it would be the biggest victory of victories in her career to get a nomination from the most prestigious of committees even though it involved channeling much of that same sexuality that she became most notorious for in her career.

If she was going to be nominated it should have been for Selena, but late is better than never I guess. And she'll be channeling much of that sexuality during her upcoming Super Bowl halftime performance next year. Can't wait.
