Halle Bailey says she expected the racist backlash when she was cast as The Little Mermaid. She tells The Face’s Olive Pometsey: “As a Black person, you just expect it and it’s not really a shock anymore.” She recalls how her mentor Beyoncé advised her never to read the comments online. That cover and photoshoot though. Not the rainbow comic sans font! An elementary graduate could have done a better job. Graphics? Clearly NOT a strong point! And Disney weeps.
