Monica took to Instagram live a few days ago, and Ray J hopped into the comment section to suggest she team up with his sister Brandy for a joint tour. He remarked that the tour could net them both over $100 million dollars. The songstress took to Instagram and kindly asked for Ray J to stop speaking on her in public after he repeatedly made the same comments and says that any further conversation regarding a possible tour should happen in private.
At first, I thought Monica was doing waaaay too much but his interview on The Breakfast Club offered context. On The Breakfast Club yesterday, Ray J said he wants a tour, suggesting that Monica should not co-headline but OPEN for Brandy. Clearly, Monica took this as an insult and was deeply offended. That's pretty much implying Monica is not Brandy's equal. Of course they're equals. They are PEERS and this has never changed. The difference is that Brandy enjoyed more mainstream success and was marketed towards pop audiences but they both made their impact in different ways. Monica has received criticism for her strong reaction and has defended herself to The Shade Room.
