Ashanti steps right into Fat Joe & Ja Rule’s Verzuz; ex-boyfriend Nelly hugs her ...

Last night, Ashanti put in an appearance during Fat Joe and Ja Rule's latest Verzuz battle at the Hulu Theater in New York's Madison Square Garden. The singer was probably sweating buckets as both rappers put her on continuous rotation during the event. She performed their respective hits, 'Mesmerize', 'What’s Love' and 'Always on Time' back to back. 

It didn't go unappreciated as Fat Joe gifted both Ashanti (and Remy Ma) very expensive Birkin bags for the effort. Interestingly, her ex-boyfriend Nelly was also in the building. Nelly, who recently split up with his girlfriend, was in a romantic relationship with Ashanti for 11 years.  The cameraman never wanted to capture the interaction, which had folks fuming. But another angle of the moment was captured by someone and we got to see it. He is probably in her DMs right now and folks are acting like that's a good thing. He was in a relationship with this woman for 11 years and couldn't even be bothered to put a ring on it. He was also with Shantel Jackson for about the same amount of time. 

Some men just aren't the marrying type I guess, but who wouldn't want to wife up Ashanti? She's beautiful, and yes, her thighs were certainly the winner and stole the show. Nick Cannon, with his three fire emojis, was still courting her in the Verzuz comment section after doing so during the VMAs. Lastly, the evening's battle was certainly a reminder that both Ashanti and Ja totally reinvented the magic of Hip-Hop and R&B collaborations in the early 2000s.
